Fees & Costs

Roundtrip charges nothing today. Here is every other cost that exists in crypto borrowing, and what you will be shown before you ever sign.

01What you pay today

Nothing. The interface currently charges no fee, and actions that would move funds are disabled. Protocol rates shown are read live from the protocol and are set by it, not by Roundtrip.

02Possible interface fee in future

An interface fee may be introduced when live transactions become available. If that happens, the amount and how it is calculated will be published here and shown at review before any signature, not buried afterwards.

No interface fee is in effect now, and none is charged retroactively.

03Protocol interest

Borrowing from a permissionless lending protocol accrues interest to that protocol, at a variable rate the protocol sets. Interest continues to accrue whether or not you are using this interface, and is not paid to Roundtrip.

The borrow rate read live from the protocol already includes the protocol's own network interest component, so it is shown once and never added twice.

04Origination fee

A one-off origination fee is charged by the protocol on the newly borrowed amount only — not on your outstanding balance. The exact percentage is read live from the protocol and shown on your review screen before you sign.

05Low loan-to-value penalty

Below the protocol's low loan-to-value threshold, an additional annual charge applies. It falls in a straight line from its maximum at zero loan-to-value to nothing at the threshold, so borrowing very little against a lot of collateral is not free.

06Network fees

Every on-chain action — depositing collateral, borrowing, repaying, withdrawing — costs a network fee paid in the relevant chain's native asset. Fees vary with congestion and can rise sharply during volatile markets, and cannot be quoted in advance.

The protocol also charges its own ingress and egress costs for moving assets in and out. These are set at execution.

07Cross-chain and routing costs

If assets have to move between chains, the routing or deposit-channel software involved may apply its own fees, spreads or minimum amounts, and may have expiry conditions that cost you an extra transaction if missed.

Boost, swap and broker commissions apply only if those routes are used.

08Liquidation costs

If your position is liquidated, the protocol charges a liquidation fee on the collateral sold, and you also bear the difference between the market price and the price the sale actually achieves. That price difference is variable and cannot be quoted in advance.

Liquidation is assessed across your whole protocol account, not one loan at a time.

09Minimum amounts

The protocol enforces minimum sizes: a new loan must be at least the protocol's minimum loan amount, and smaller updates such as adding or removing collateral have their own lower minimum. Both are read live and enforced before a quote is offered.

10Other third-party costs

Stablecoin issuers, exchanges, custodians or payment services you use before or after interacting with a protocol may charge their own fees, spreads or withdrawal costs. Those are outside the interface.

11All applicable costs shown at review

Before any live signature, the review screen shows the costs known at that moment: the variable borrow rate, the origination fee, any low loan-to-value penalty, the liquidation fee, and which costs remain variable — alongside the loan-to-value and liquidation thresholds.

Each line states where its figure comes from: confirmed by the live protocol read, estimated from live figures, variable at execution, or not reported. If the protocol does not report a cost material to what you would pay, the action stays blocked rather than showing an incomplete total.

Some costs, such as future network fees, future variable interest and the execution price achieved in a liquidation, cannot be known in advance and are described rather than quoted.
